When I first started blogging, one of the first tutorials I watched was from Chelsea at Chelsea King's Get Nailed. This girl is seriously talented and her tutorials are always informative and easy to follow. I choose to do her Houndstooth tutorial - which you can view here. I wanted to switch it up a bit by using red instead of the Tiffany Blue she used, but that looked awful, so I used a similar color to what Chelsea used. I'll show you all my attempts - I took this off so many times, no wonder my cuticles are all red!!

That houndstooth pattern is really good!! I've never tried it, but now I want to!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jessie - it was actually a lot easier than I thought. Chelsea breaks it down in to shapes so it totally makes sense!
DeleteI love all of these! I adore houndstooth. I don't have the patience to freehand it and my only houndstooth plate is to small. Meh!
ReplyDeleteThanks girl! It wasn't as bad as I thought once I saw how the shapes fit together - definitely recommend Chelsea's tutorial!
DeleteYou did well, it's really pretty!
ReplyDeleteKickass job buddy!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful job, Nicole! I want to try this. Love. Love. Love houndstooth.

Wow, can't believe those are hand-painted! I like the first mani with all the blues the best.
ReplyDeleteYou did this by hand!?!?!?!?! Boo! You whore! I friggin love this! No way I will ever attempt to do it! And of course you know I loooooooove the glitter!
ReplyDeleteNicole, this is CRAZY! I had to go watch the video because I couldn't believe it could be done by hand.
ReplyDeleteWow your houndstooth print looks so damn fine that at first I thought it was a nail polish strip or stamping ! Excellent job !
