Color Changing Leopard

Happy Monday!  Don't you just cringe reading that?  I cringe typing it!!

I've been eyeballing some really pretty polish at Winners the last couple of times I went in and I couldn't justify the $7.99 price tag so always put them back.  Last week I was lucky enough to find them on sale for $5 - score!!  The brand is Butterfly Wing, something I've never heard of and it's color changing polish - not really my thing, but the color and the price sold me.

Here's a bottle shot, I really couldn't capture how bright yellow the orange-y color is on camera and the pink-y red is more coral than pink, but IRL they are really lovely and bright.  You can't really tell from any of the photos, but the yellow was iridescent - something I don't normally go for, but it didn't bug me that much in this polish.  What did bug me was the formula - it was runny and streaky and one of the brushes had a huge chunk out of it, which made application even more difficult.  I had to wear the yellow with white undies and it still took 3 or 4 coats to make the yellow not look streaky.

I'm so glad I didn't pay full price for these; however, I wouldn't buy this brand again.  I would rather continue my search for the perfect yellow than struggle with application!!  Have you tried this branch or another type of color changing polish?  How was the formula?

Saran Train

Hiya!!  It feels very strange not to have a challenge post going up every day like I did for the last couple of weeks, now I actually have to think of some interesting mani's!!  Maybe I should make my own challenge....hmmmm.....

I've been reluctant to get on the saran wrap mani train, I wasn't really digging how it looked, it reminded me of those rag walls that were all the rage back in the day - not a fan.  I went to Wally World the other day and bought some new coral-y polish and once I had it on, it looked like it needed something more.  I tried some nail art in silver and it didn't really work, so decided to try the saran wrap method with some gold instead.  I couldn't find any saran wrap in my mess of a kitchen so used a plastic bag instead (which works just as well, if you ask me!!).  Some of you know I love when glitter, or any mani really, is mattified - I haven't seen any mattified saran wrap mani's so was excited to try it out!!  I don't know if I captured how pretty this turned out - I literally could not stop looking at my nails!!  What do you think??

My Favorite Flower?

Hiya!!  Second to last day for Ooh La La's My Favorite Things Challenge - Flowers!!  I'm a little sad this challenge is almost over - it's like a good book that you've powered through and now there's only a couple of pages left....I'm sure there will be more challenges (yes, I'm doing two others at the mo), but this one was fun and my first!

I was having a hard time finding inspiration for this mani - I just did flowers for my Black and White Day for the 31 Day Challenge and I attempted to do a mani for this day last week and decided to use it for Delicate Print Day for the 31 Day Challenge instead - so I'm a little flowered out!

Base Coat:  Orly Bonder

Main Color:  Wet n Wild - Blazed

I used acrylic for the flowers

Top Coat:  Pro FX Quick Dry

Stampeedo

Stamping?!  Eeeeks

I've seen so many cute manis using the 2012 Bundle Monster plates I absolutely had to have them.  I probably should have practiced with my Salon Express stamping set a little more before purchasing the new bundle monster plates, but I have no patience!!  I dabbled a little with the SE stamping set as seen in Pinkin' it Up, I had a little issue with streaking and the designs are pretty boring.  My new buddy, Nicole from Polish me Please, who is the QUEEN OF STAMPING suggested the BM plates.  I hummed and hawed about getting them because I'm cheap and I hadn't mastered the SE plates, but Nicole's mani's convinced me - are you still here looking at my blog?!?!  GO there immediately, here's the link again (Polish me Please), she is amazing!!  Back?  Okay, scroll down to see the train wreck or as Nicole calls it the disasticure!

Here's my practice run on yesterday's mani - I was all "this is easy" - HA.  It's so hard to get the design straight, which I'm hoping will come with more practice!

For today's mani I used:
