Polish Days - Vintage Roses

Hello friends!

I haven't done a Polish Days in what seems like forever, I'm glad to get back on the bandwagon!!  For those of you who don't know what Polish Days is, head on over to Polly Polish for more info and to get on the mailing list!!  This month's theme is Vintage and I love me some vintage roses!!

Vintage Rose Nail Art

I did this mani a week or so ago, and I loved it so much!!  The Essence "Exits on your Right" from the Ready for Boarding collection is the perfect minty green and what goes best with minty green?  Vintage roses in pink!!  I wish I took more photos of this mani, but I'm happy I managed to get one!

Have a wonderful day and join me in checking out the other lovely "vintage"mani's created for Polish Days, by clicking the links below!

Popped MAN-icure

Hello lovelies!  Today I have two themes in one mani - a MAN-icure for Polish Days and Inspired by Art for the 31 Day Challenge!!  If you haven't heard of Polish Days, click here to learn more!

November marks the start of Movember a time when men grow mustaches to raise funds and awareness for men's health, specifically prostate cancer and male mental health initiatives.  The hubby has a goatee and a mustache so I'm used to the hairy upper lip, but for you lovelies that have to put up with a month of hairiness, just know it's for a good cause!!  Also, remind your guys that Movember isn't just about growing a stache, it's to raise funds so get them to register online so your friends and family can donate to the cause and see the progress of the growth!!   If you couldn't tell, I was inspired by Andy Warhol's pop art and of course the manly moustache!!  Hope you enjoy!

Polish Days - Sentimental

Hello polish peeps!!

My third go at the lovely Hannah over at Polly Polish's Polish Days.  Today's theme is all about sentimentality - this theme is open to interpretation, whether it's the polish that got you hooked, some nail art in dedication to someone special or that polish that you went through hell and high water to get your hands on.

I had a tough time with this one, it was so broad, I had like 10 ideas and it was hard to settle on just one.  So, I went with the easiest thing I could think of polka dots.  I did these dots with the polish that started my obsession - the 6 mini neon bottles of polish that I got from my cousin after my buddy had waved her perfectly painted digits in my face.  These little mini's are the best neon polishes I own, and it will be a sad day when they bite the dust.  To read more about how I started my polish journey, click here.

Polish Geometry

Hiya!!  I'm super excited for my second post for Polish Days!!  If you haven't heard about Polish Days, you must live under a rock!!  The lovely Hannah over at Polly Polish has been hosting monthly Polish Days for a couple of months - it's like a challenge, only monthly.  Last month was Olympics - this month Geometry!  Check it out if you're interested in joining - I think it's gotten rather big, let's hope she knows how much all us nail bloggers appreciate all the effort she puts into hosting Polish Days!!

Coming up with an idea for this one was a little challenging - not only did I suck at Geometry in school, but I'm super intimidated by nail art using straight lines.  I'm anal. I like things straight and organized and even - if they don't turn out that way - off it goes and I'm starting again.  I'm semi-okay with how this turned out, it was fiddly for sure - and not all the lines are even, which kinda bugs me - but, I'll take it!!

Polish Olympics

I'm super excited for today's post, it's my first post participating in Polish Days!

A while back on twitter, I was seeing all these #polishdays hashtags and countdowns to polish days and I was curious and somewhat jealous I wasn't in on the in!  Doing a little research (it wasn't that hard, everyone was talking about it), I found what I was looking for.  Hannah at Polly Polish has set up Polish Days, a monthly event for nail bloggers to produce a themed manicure and share it with the world!  I was super excited it was so easy to sign up and couldn't wait until the next month's theme was announced.  And what a theme it is, OLYMPICS!  I know you can't be sick of the Olympics yet, so what if all your favorite shows aren't aired for two weeks and all you can find on tv is unending coverage of speed walking and beach volleyball - the Summer Olympics ROCK!

My mani is inspired by the bathing suits Canadians, Meaghan Benfeito and Roseline Fillion, wore to win a bronze medal for Canada last Tuesday for synchronized diving (10 metre).  I actually managed to catch this on tv and it was pretty amazing!  I also caught a globe and mail video on them that was aired during the event, which gave a brief history of their career and friendship.  These two are the absolute cutest, they are best friends and make me super proud to be Canadian!

I won't post the inspiration pictures directly on my page, but if your curious, click here and here to see the suits they were wearing!  How did I do?
