They Sure Don't Make 'em Like They Used To....

Hello!!  Welcome to Day 6 of the Let's Do The Time Warp Challenge - They sure don't make 'em like they used!  A mani inspired by a classic toy or game.

I love board games and didn't realize I could have done a board game theme for this mani - darn!!  Shameless plug alert - have you seen my geeky Munchkin mani??  Click here!!  Oh well, I'm pretty happy with what I came up with.  This idea immediately popped into my head when I read what this day would have to include - the Fisher Price Chatter Telephone!!  The Chatter Telephone was introduced by Fisher Price in 1962 as the "Talk Back Phone."  It is a pull toy for young children that makes a chattering sound when you pull it.  It has eyes that move up and down and a rotary dial that rings a bell.  The original phone was made of wood with a plastic receiver and cord, in 2000 they changed this to one with push-button numbers with lights to modernize it.  People didn't like this modern version and complained to Fisher Price, who then changed it back to the rotary dial.  The Chatter Telephone was Fisher Price's best selling product and is cited as saving Fisher Price in the 90's after a failed attempt to market toys for older children.  Note:  I've paraphrase this fro wikipedia.

I remember having this toy as a child and likely most of you have as well.  I think my sister might have inherited it, but I definitely enjoyed it!!  Warning, picture heavy, it was interesting trying to capture these how I wanted to!!
